Pua Tranquil Vista Homestay will provide superior boutique accommodation and breakfast experience for travelers to northern Nan province. It is opening in September 2019 and will operate August-January inclusive each year. Touring motor cyclists are particularly welcome. Undercover parking for up to four cars or multiple motor cycles is available under the carport attached to the house. Access to the house is direct from the carport, a bonus in the wet season. A bike wash facility adjoins the carport.

We are six kilometers to the east of Pua on a low ridge that comes down from the Luang Prabang mountains. We are on road number 1371 that connects roads 1256 (Pua-Bo Kluea) and 1081 (Pua-Santi Suk). GPS coordinates are 19.162544, 100.950390. We (the owner/operators) are Ross, an Australian with an international career in retail banking and aviation and wife Ahe, a Thai national and ex-nurse. The homestay is in a new house that was completed in February 2019. The house design caters for the view to the north and level 2 in particular was designed with a homestay business in mind. While the house was being built we noticed the high number of touring motor cyclists and have decided to give a focus to catering for them. Despite our small size, our goal is to become the preferred accommodation choice in northern Nan for those visitors that have stayed or heard of us. Being small will allow us to offer a greater degree of flexibility to cater for guest needs.

Three air-conditioned guestrooms each with own ensuite bathroom are available. The Rain Room on level 1 is a smaller room with a double bed. The Sunset Room on level 2 is a large room with a king bed. This room has a large writing desk and chest of drawers and would be the best room for 1-2 longer stay guests. The Sunrise Room also on level 2 is a large room with a king bed and single bed.

Our rates for the September 2019-January 2020 season are 1,000 baht per night for 1-2 pax in the Rain Room, 1,200 baht per night for 1-2 pax in the Sunrise or Sunset Rooms, and 500 baht per night for a third guest in the Sunrise Room. All rates include breakfast. Our residential guests may invite others to join for breakfast at 200 baht per non-residential guest. A deposit of 50% is required to firm the booking one month before check-in day. Payment options are bank transfer, LINE transfer and cash only.

The living room on level 2 is for the exclusive use of our guests and is equipped with a kitchenette, showcase refrigerator, dining table for six, lounges for six, sound system, a 55” television with 100+ international and local channels, books, playing cards and games sets. Free Wi-Fi with broadband internet access is provided. The kitchenette is stocked with complimentary tea and coffee supplies that may be enjoyed by our guests at any time. The Sunrise, Sunset and living rooms all open onto a full length covered deck with seating for eight. Guests can take in the views to the north of the Luang Prabang mountains and Nan River valley. On a clear day there is a view across the whole of the Nan River valley to the Phi Pan Nam mountains near the border with Laos.

Upon waking guests can enjoy tea and coffee from the kitchenette together with home made overnight oats. A hot breakfast is served in the level 1 dining room and will consist of eggs, pork sausages, potato cake, mushrooms, baked beans and thick toast. Butter and a range of sweet and savoury spreads will be available for the toast.

Clothes can be washed, dried and folded onsite for a modest fee. Use of the bike wash facility is free. Towards the end of 2019 an outside BBQ and dining/relaxation area will be available for guests. Guestrooms will be tidied daily. Bath towels/mats/etc are changed daily. Bed linen will be changed every third day for longer stay guests. Check-out by 11:00am, check-in from 3:00pm. No pets are allowed. Smoking is permitted on the property but not in or near the house. Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted. Illicit drugs or other illegal activity will not be tolerated. Non-residential visitors to the property requires owner agreement.
