That old Tiger looks sweet, so does the KW but i don't recall those pipes. Where was the meet Colin ?

Yeah it's a Z750 which later became the the Z900, the one bike i wish i still owned :(
 
Never heard of the Silk before,must have been a handful back its day with narrow razor blade tires and little braking or handling....love the Kwaka H2 1000.

These were mainly at Alton railway station on a Wednesday night ride out to the cafe

Now you mention it I notice the 4 pipes too, if I see it out again I will ask the owner what it is. I was thinking it was an ordinary 750 2 stroke triple
 
This is a 2 stroke Bob, weren't the Z range all 4 strokes?

You could be right Colin maybe the bike has had a transplant or maybe its this one.


The Kawasaki Z750, also called Z2, 750RS, Z750RS, Z750D or Z750 FOUR was introduced in 1973 as a smaller displacement "brother model" to their already successful Z1 (900) for the Japanese market.
Visually the Z2 is very similar to the Z1 with the only difference being the smaller engine. The new 746 cc DOHC engine was built with newly designed pistons and crankshaft parts to give it a feel similar to the Z1's 900 cc engine. At that time, both engines from the Z1 an Z2 were the only DOHC four cylinder (Honda's dohc CB450 was a twin cylinder motor) engines available in a Japanese built motorcycle. The engine had a maximum output of 69ps at 9,000 rpm and could propel the Z2 to a maximum speed of 190 km/h.
Production of the Z2 began in March 1973 and the bike recorded sales that were 10% higher than its nearest 750 cc competitor.
The bike was featured heavily in the anime and manga series Great Teacher Onizuka.
In Japan the Z2 was succeeded in 1978 by the Kawasaki Z750FX.

The H2 engines had all sorts of whacky grafts done to them.

that z750 looks nothing like the 4stroke Z1.
So what is it?
I know there is a workshop somewhere that specialises in different configurations of these kawa 2 stroke motors, they will build it anyway you want

Its just a H2 750 with another cylinder grafted on. Totally non-factory.

The H2 750 was a monster. I used to ride around on the back of one whenever my old Matchless 500 let me down... which was often. It was an absolute wheelie machine. Twist the throttle at 110 mph while going downhill... two up... wheelie.
 
Some lovely old bikes there. The Velo looks like it was produced from a variety of models. The new Triumph has a 1966 plate on it , I wonder why.
