While I will always say the pig is the most delicious tasting creature to have ever walked the planet this does not even look appealing to me
DSCF1111.jpg

Out the other side of the village and the unpaved track starts

DSCF1115.jpg

DSCF1116.jpg

The scenery is fantastic but the track is not a particularly pleasant ride at all
DSCF1117.jpg

DSCF1118.jpg

DSCF1119.jpg

Its going uphill plus its a wet surface and I ponder turning around but decide to look a bit further
DSCF1120.jpg

Once out of the shade the track is dry but still hard and badly rutted
DSCF1121.jpg

DSCF1122.jpg

This is one of the few places where its a better riding surface
DSCF1123.jpg

This sign is nailed to a tree but I certainly dont see anything resembling this scene

I dont see any of them either, the track to the right says 1km to something so I go that way
DSCF1130.jpg

Part way along is this barrier
DSCF1131.jpg

At the destination at N18.32.892 E100.23.443 and its completely deserted
DSCF1132.jpg

DSCF1133.jpg

The small reservoir is full and slightly overflowing
DSCF1134.jpg

Looking inside one of the small huts
DSCF1135.jpg

No chance of that going anywhere
DSCF1136.jpg

Time to press on, I am now riding on no track according to the Esri and I ride a while further than turn back, since I left the village I havent seen any sign of people out here
DSCF1137.jpg

DSCF1138.jpg

DSCF1139.jpg

DSCF1140.jpg

On the way back I actually encounter a living person but no one else until I get back to the village
DSCF1142.jpg

DSCF1143.jpg

DSCF1144.jpg

DSCF1145.jpg

After riding back through the village I turn left onto an unmade track for a while
DSCF1146.jpg

DSCF1147.jpg

Now to ride to two more villages I found out here last trip
DSCF1148.jpg

DSCF1149.jpg

DSCF1150.jpg

This girl came riding down a steepish hill then stopped and spun it on the sidestand like I do with the KLX to turn it around then she was off back up the hill standing on the pegs, good riding from her
DSCF1152.jpg

I stop at a shop for refreshments and these are outside, possibly for sale I guess
DSCF1153.jpg

DSCF1154.jpg

A pleasant days riding now back to Nan

Interesting report Colin. I like the fact that you take the time to stop in villages and make contact with the locals.
I encourage you to learn some basic Thai, you'll be amazed how the people act differently when you speak their language especially in those remote places.

Nice report Colin, timing was good at the butchers shop, I like the look of that roast dinner.
