A team of archaeologists is excavating a copper casting area in Sepon mine in Vilaboury district, Savannakhet province, and finding many artifacts made of copper dating back over 200 years. The team, accompanied by Director General of Heritage Department, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Bounthieng Sribouaphanh, rushed to the Sepon mine in Vilaboury district, Savannakhet Province to excavate an area that is believed to hold a copper casting area and other artifacts. Artifacts found include pots, jars, axes, spears, weapons, beads, black smith tools, and stone axes. In addition, the team of archeologists has discovered a tomb along with other objects that were dedicated to the person upon his or her death and reflected the burial customs of that ancient era.
