The route 3, 63, 12, 2

Total distance 243 km

It was one of those days today, I got up and packed in the sunshine but as I was about to leave it started raining, I put my wet gear on and rode off, less than 1 km later the roads were bone dry and the 3 was a joy to ride with some good bends like the above one

A cemetery along the roadside

I stop for breakfast at this Muslim restaurant just before Endau at N02.38.456 E103.37.842

A delicious chicken Ayam Berlada and fried noodles for 60 Baht

Another full river of fast flowing muddy water

I take a left to ride the 63 and not far along here the heavens open for a while so I take shelter under here

Shes in a rush to get nipper and herself out of the rain

It stops raining and I enjoy the rest of todays ride in the dry, the roads were busy again today on the start of the Chinese new year

I ride into Kuantan and check in here at N03.48.668 E103.19.372 for 250 Baht

A double bed and a fan, shared toilet/shower

About four places from my hotel there is a KFC, but unfortunately for the good Colonel theres an Indian restaurant even closer and I eat here at N03.48.677 E103.19.366

A chicken curry and rice to start with

A piece of spicy fried chicken too, total bill 65 Baht.

Colin - It looks like the you get much less bang for your buck in respect of accommodation in Malaysia than you do in Thailand?

I've seen you stay in some pretty decent places for 250 Bht in Thailand, the below one in Malaysia doesn't seem great for the money, what do you think?

Youre right Phil, accommodation was usually more expensive in Malaysia than in Thailand but this was more than compensated for by the much cheaper fuel, ie 19 Baht per litre for benzine 95
