Something is cooking in the first village I stop at

I am told its a mixture of pork, garlic and sticky rice

A girl here speaks English, I ask if its a wedding but she says no and mentions a new home, perhaps its a house warming celebration

I am given a bag full which I decline but she tells me to take it or they will be offended, I tried a small piece but found it disgusting

The Burmese guy and his sister who manage my guest house were only too happy to accept it though and the looks on their faces suggested it was a delicacy to them

The guy I saw yesterday with only one leg was here as well

Overlooking the village from above

A dry stone wall, one of my pet hates as a bricklayer is being asked to build these

The track turns very stony and rutted and I am hoping I can find another exit so I don't need to return this way

The track finishes at these stones, I can see another double track at the bottom but need to get down there somehow

I ride over and through the stones and manage to get down

The walking path was unrideable so I rode on the field

Out onto a proper double track, easily done on a bike but that short section at the stones means its single track to get through

Lots of water being used here

But this reservoir is constantly being pumped full from an irrigation canal

The ice cream man makes an appearance

Pork curry and two portions of brown rice at Sara's Takeaway 150 Baht
