The Route 108, 1266, 4006, 1270,
Total Distance 186 km
Another very hazy ride north along the 108 then a right onto the 1266 for about 25 km then it was a right onto the 4006.
Fuel was sold from a hand pump along the 1266 at N18.20.411 E097.59.615 and again at N18.20.836 E098.03.645
I have only ever rode this way once before, 2 or 3 years ago and it was this nice asphalt surface to Ban Dong then just past it the surface turned to dirt
In Ban Dong and fuel is sold here from a hand pump at N18.20.638 E098.04.825
The asphalt surface carries on a lot further now
The asphalt finishes at N18.20.578 E098.06.924 and its now a dirt ride
Visibility isnt so good today but something as trivial as that doesnt spoil the ride
I ride through Ban Dong Mai
Here the road forks and I take the right to ride to the 3010
Its only 10 km to the 3010 but this bulldust is not my preferred surface and its slow going in lots of places
All I am seeing again today is cabbages
I reach the 3010 where I rode along yesterday and then turn around to ride back to Ban Dong Mai to explore the other track out of it
Where this lady is fuel is sold from a hand pump at N18.20.745 E098.07.080
Heading out on my first new track of the day for me and the worst of the bulldust is now thankfully over
I am only 1 km past Ban Dong Mai and looking back I can hardly see it through the haze
About 1 km before reaching the 1270 I ride past a few homes
I ride north along the 1270 for a few km then take a left to ride to a village in the hills at N18.22.645 E098.06.501.
I ride on through and this takes me to the new road that I was on yesterday and I come out of the fork that I didnt try yesterday
I get back on the 1270 and ride north then at a junction take a left to head back towards Mae La Noi
Its getting a bit windy now and the temperature has fallen noticeably
The surface is rocky in places but thats not a problem and much preferable to bulldust
Chicken, fries and onions at Sawaddee for 200 Baht
