The Route 108, 4085, 1099

Total Distance 188 km

I headed east along the 108 for about 45 km then took a right onto the less than perfectly surfaced 4085

Well burnt scenery and lots of haze today.
Before reaching Kong Koi there is a proper fuel station at N18.06.127 E098.12.970

Out the other side of Kong Koi the road turns to dirt at N18.04.870 E098.11.806, I only ride a short way to finish mapping the track that I took yesterday but joined it further along

I ride back then onto Bo Sali, here I take a side track that turns to dirt at N18.06.335 E098.13.617

Its a bumpy and sometimes rocky surface

Some concrete strips are being laid here

Then its the track of fire but not much smoke thankfully

The dirt finishes at N18.07.762 E098.13.214 when I reach the 4085
DSCF5716.jpg

I only stay on the 4085 for a short time then I take a right onto dirt at N18.08.124 E098.13.357 and this track shows as taking me back to the 108.
I reach this unknown reservoir at N18.08.234 E098.13.918 and here I have to do a turnaround as theres no way through

This is a recent construction by the look of it

Virtually full

The ESRI shows this as the way back to the 108 but it is overgrown and blocked by bamboo ahead so time to turn around
DSCF5721.jpg

That pickup truck in the field is on the other side of the irrigation duct and I can see a track going out from across it but that can be explored from the other end another time.
I ride back to the 4085 the way I rode in and no more dirt today now

A small village at the end of the paved surface from another turning of the 108

Further along the 108 and about 3 km before the 1099 I take a right onto this pleasant unnumbered road

Fuel from the hand pump at N18.07.065 E098.21.310

I ride on and reach the 1099 then its back to Mae Sariang

Hi Colin

You timed your riding through that fire just about right, wind in the right direction ;)

How is the new sidestand holding out ?

Are the tires on the KLX lasting as long as you thought ? How are they wearing ?

Brilliant tracking as always, this work you are doing is serving the biking community with a massive boost of material for planning, motivation to get out there and and enormous amount of satisfaction that roads like you show are very navigable despite the community being more '3rd world' than many of the other regions people ride.

Hi Ally

The sidestand is holding out okay and I am trying to not spin the bike using it but I still mount the bike the same way but a bit more carefully now.

I had the rear tyre replaced at 12000 km and at 24000 km I will have the pair replaced.

Hopefully the map is looking a little fuller in this area now, there were lots of little off shoots that I didnt get time for today plus more south of where I was riding heading west from the 1099
