I headed out along the 118 then between the outer ringroad and Doi Saket I take a left onto the 3017 to ride to the Mae Kuang reservoir, along this road I notice this old house with a more modern roof
DSCF0701.jpg

This is a pleasant winding road along here
DSCF0702.jpg

I then use the 2074 and the 2157 before reaching the dam
DSCF0703.jpg

The overflow which hasnt had any overflowing water running down it for a few years now, I want some pictures from the top of here and I decide its quicker to climb up beside the overflow rather than take the long walk from the locked gates
DSCF0704.jpg

Halfway up and im knackered, its a lot steeper and much harder work climbing than I imagined
DSCF0705.jpg

That looks steep and believe me it is
DSCF0707.jpg

Finally at the top and im sweating buckets

DSCF0710.jpg

The climb was worthwhile for the lovely views

DSCF0712.jpg

Although its a lot higher than this time last year its still a long way below full capacity
DSCF0713.jpg

Back down the bottom and I cant see what all the fuss was about, that looks an easy climb
DSCF0718.jpg

I ride back to the 118 turn left and carry on until I take a right onto the 3005, I am getting hungry now and stop here for some food
DSCF0719.jpg

I fancy something spicy and a chicken and basil does the job for 25 Baht this restaurant is at N18.54.514 E099.14.427
DSCF0720.jpg

Time to ride on enjoying the pleasant 3005

DSCF0725.jpg

I take a left onto the 1230 and enjoy more good scenery but the road surface leaves a lot to be desired
DSCF0726.jpg

DSCF0728.jpg

Plenty of colour along this road
DSCF0729.jpg

DSCF0731.jpg

At N18.48.385 I take a left onto an unnumbered road that also does not appear on my gps map
DSCF0733.jpg

A twisting meandering track through the trees
DSCF0734.jpg

DSCF0735.jpg

There is not a lot of scenery shot opportunities along here because of the trees
DSCF0737.jpg

After about five km its the village
DSCF0740.jpg

DSCF0746.jpg

I ride through the village for about three km on this concrete track that has been extended since I rode here last holiday, it finishes at N18.48.640 E099.21.416
DSCF0750.jpg

DSCF0752.jpg

I ride back to the village stopping for some more photos
DSCF0753.jpg

DSCF0755.jpg

This girl was working away on her sowing machine
DSCF0756.jpg

DSCF0761.jpg

I ride back to the 1230 turning left onto it and enjoying these bends where I can
DSCF0764.jpg

DSCF0766.jpg

Something scuttling across the road catches my eye, its this little fellow
DSCF0768.jpg

DSCF0769.jpg

DSCF0771.jpg

At N18.47.335 E099.18.234 I take a left to ride to Ban Kunta
DSCF0772.jpg

As I start to climb theres a good view of the 1230 below
DSCF0773.jpg

DSCF0774.jpg

DSCF0775.jpg

DSCF0776.jpg

This is another unnumbered road that also does not appear on my gps map
DSCF0777.jpg

DSCF0778.jpg

In Ban Kunta and a few people around
DSCF0779.jpg

I see a few people working with bamboo today
DSCF0780.jpg

DSCF0781.jpg

At the village I see this track heading off and here its N18.47.772 E099.20.982. I estimate it as only about two to three km from this point to the end of the concrete road at the other village and next time I am here on a more suitable bike I will see if this track links the two
DSCF0782.jpg

DSCF0783.jpg

I see a lot of this drying today
DSCF0784.jpg

DSCF0785.jpg

DSCF0786.jpg

Time to get back to the 1230
DSCF0789.jpg

About half a km from the Ban Kunta turning the 1230 turns to the unpaved section starting at N18.47.290 E099.17.998
DSCF0790.jpg

Its not too hard going though, I have been along here a few times before but always in the opposite direction, todays was the better direction because most of the offroad section was going uphill, certainly much more preferable on a cruiser
DSCF0791.jpg

DSCF0794.jpg

I stop at the viewpoint for a photo
DSCF0797.jpg

Finally its back to good quality asphalt at N18.46.131 E099.17.353
DSCF0798.jpg

Now if only the 1230 was like this from beginning to end
DSCF0799.jpg

As I turn right onto the 1229 I see this gentleman working away with the bamboo
DSCF0800.jpg

DSCF0801.jpg

Now its time to ride home to eat
DSCF0803.jpg

Hot spicy chicken wings and fries at Pizza N Pasta tonight, 219 Baht for these and boy were they spicy.
