Machine shop fabricators in Asia

Somchai's machine shop in Chiang Mai, just did a first class job fabricating some rear pannier racks for some Suzuki DRZ 400's, his contact details are below:

He's a little hard to find, best way to explain it is he's a left turn on the north bound carriage way 300 meters before the flyover on R 1141 that goes passed airport plaza in Chiang Mai. You take the left turn that has lots of signs at the turn and the turn is just before the dis used Ford dealership.

Another place in Chiang Mai, Thailand where you can get decent fabrication and welding done is this shop just north east of the Chiang Mai moat square

Normally how long does it take to fabricate a set of pannier brackets

Phil - were your brackets painted or powder coated? and if they are powder coated, was that included in the price?

Painted with a can of black spray paint ....included in the price.

Elton's left side pannier rack all finished. He found some military spec hard cases (look like pelican cases) in the Army surplus store on the north side of the moat in Chiang Mai, that have rubber seals in the closure.

Somchai offered both but powdercoat would have cost extra.. I just went for spray as I wasnt fussed and in a hurry.

Racks made in a day. I was happy with the work. Plus the guy was a smiler and we had a laugh, goes a long way on me when you have a bit of fun in the process.

Starter motor, alternator, stator & electric motor repairs in Chiang Mai

Look no further than Charlie who owns Siam Motor on Canal Road (R 121) in Chiang Mai. He's been around forever and does a good work. He can easily replace any carbon brushes in any elec. motor.
