If you use them, which ones would you get?
And how do they rate for all day comfort in the heat, holding the tank etc?

Not proper braces but comfy and good protection

And oh to stop the rubbing from the straps a pair of 10 denier tights are a must!

Dont you get distracted by all the wolf whistles?

I wear knee pads all the time, and straps are always a problem, I've owned probably 10 different kinds, they all cut in after a while. And those ones look hot

But I'm looking at proper Braces this time

It's difficult but you get use to it.

Pod K700MX, there might be different variants now but look no further they are top shelf.
I had a pair but slightly too small and had to sell them. However before the pinching started I hardly noticed I was wearing them and you got a nice feeling of being locked onto the tank. Expensive but heh hoh......,,

I have the Matrix Lite

Price has come down since I bought mine. Now only Oz $700 a pair (I bought 2 pairs for $1,800 three years back - for my son and me).

Matrix Lite - Matrix Knee Braces - BUY BY BRAND

The day I smashed my tibial plateau, I was thinking "maybe I should have my knee braces on?"... oops

Other than that, they have saved my knees more than once.... and I do mean saved. I had one fall on Cape York where the lower part bit into the front of my lower leg - meaning that it had prevented a hyper extension that would have smashed the other knee.

I hate them... but I wear them. The straps do cut in a bit... but something between the leg and the strap works - and funnily enough, a crisps packet works well (thanks for that suggestion Justin)

I've also had some problems with the velcro that holds in the knee pad... but a new bit of velcro fixed that quite easily.

I currently have the same Thor ones as Jonny posted, for off road.. And a set of leatt 3df foam ones (super comfy) for under jeans road rides when it would be those or nothing.

A real set of braces are high on my list but I feel like I want to try some on first so have been leaving it for a western hop.

Leatt are just about to drop a whole new range of gear and one of the items is a knee brace.. Been very impressed with the leatt stuff I have seen and used so far (the new leatt 3df foam pressure suit would be top of my list once my 661 suit fails) so will keep an eye on those too.

You guys will probably piss yourself laughing but I am going to a kawasaki training and enduro day in BKK next week
I have had the 331 kit fitted to my klx and want to try it out,
I have bought suppression armour,I have knee and shin protectors and also elbow protection seperate .i also have mesh pant set with knee hip ass protection(looks like tights)
I have alpinestar shirt and leggings with only small protection
Do I wear the body and leg protection beneath or above my suit.Obviously I would wear the mesh pants beneath but it would be Damon hot
I don't want to look a complete tit as I will probably do that on the course
Any advice from you guys would be appreciated
Jim

Armour outside for sure, that's the fashion now these days!

Once again I am tribe of one !! I have pressure suit and knee pads under.. Wouldnt get a tight fit over.

So it doesn't really matter as long as I am comfortable

Comfort is the key Jimbob's no fun riding along while straps chafing your legs buy some elastic knee supports from the 20 baht shop work great.

Thanks guys I have bought a shit load of gear got to go and see if I still have the balls
It's great to have your input I tried thaivisa when I 1st come to LOS and just got ridiculed
Let the games begin

knee pads and elbows- if you wear them under your clothes, they are much more likely to stay in place when you need them

Everyone with braces- how is the sizing on them?
and are they hot?
Have you had any problems with them wearing out or falling apart?

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain

Have fun Jim :lost

Alex,

Here is my opinion: get the Pod K300, they are the same as Johnny's ex Pod K700 but cheaper because it's injection-molded, glass-reinforced nylon and not carbon. A lot of people use them and all are 100% satisfied.
They don't have the joints at the knees like the
Troy Lee's that I found painful when quizzing the bike the whole day with your legs.
Price is great for proper braces and the straps are okay. I've had mine for almost a year and straps are still good, but I am considering replacing them soon (you can actually just buy the straps separately).

Thats what I want Max, left only or a pair atm. I'm right between small and medium on their chart, how is the fit?
If you see a really good deal, or can post to me from USA, please let me know.
Slightly used is ok.
If you break your right one, we can share a pair
