Ellis Bankin was a schoolteacher who set out to ride to Ayers Rock in Central Australia in 1937. He broke down and his body was found beside the bike near Mt Connor. The bike is now understood to be at Curtin Springs Station not far from there... and he grave too.

In the heart of a remote Northern Territory cattle station, lies the grave of a motorcycle explorer who perished on route to Uluru in the 1930s. After 75 years, his great nephew comes to pay his respects.
