Due to the SD card in my GPS being wiped everytime I have used an internet cafe or government building computer since I entered Malaysia I will not be plugging it in very often to download the GPX track.
They will all be attached sometime in the future

Hi Captain,
I was considering starting my SE Asian year long ride in KL. Im trying to decide on a route up to Thailand and or if I will slip over to Borneo?
Having not been outside of KL before I was hoping for a few waypoints from you if you were to do this ride.
I will be on a KTM 640 Adventure and hope to be off road as much as possible to see the real country.
I like the coast and mountains equally and am in no hurry.
Any points of interest and must see destinations are much appreciated.
Your knowledge would be invaluable.
Thanks.

When you say off road do you mean off the main highways or dirt tracks?

Hi Captain,
I got myself a nice KTM 640 Adv and I would like to stay off the beaten path as much as I can. Lots of dirt and B roads. I realise I will be on the odd highway and on occasion will want to get somewhere asap. But I am in no rush and want to see the real Malaysia. Mountains to coast...
I have a Garmin 650t and am getting a few maps of the net. Your local knowledge would be a great help. The basic plan if you can call it that is to spend a month or so in Malaysia and head up to Thailand. No real plans for where to go just sort of follow my nose. This is i Guess where i need your help. all suggestions will be taken on board.
Thanks mate.
Simon.

If you look at my Malaysia ride reports you will find the gps tracks of each trip plus photos to get a bit of an idea
