FROM A FRIEND RIDING MONGOLIA

A coffee sipping friend and a couple of his mates are teasing me by sending alluring photos from their current ride in Mongolia.
They flew from CNX to Beijing, overnighted, then got a flight to Ulaan Baatar where they rented a trio of small Chinese bikes, tents and other
camping gear.
Here is the first group of pics he has sent me. I have his permission to share on RideAsia. His name is Ueli.
There are no details provided but I reckon the pics tell the story.

I will share more as I receive them.

He said they are having difficulty finding petrol.
I believe about 90% of Mongolia's petrol comes from Russia.

My friend has returned from his Mongolia ride.
Three riders, three weeks, three bikes and about 3,000 kms.

Here are some of his comments.

The bikes were rented in Ulaan Bataar for only 13 Trump dollars each.
Camping equipment and luggage was also available.
The bikes were 200cc Dayun, with both electric and kick start plus a choke.
They has a relatively large 12 litre tank but they carried extra fuel containers.
They were 4 strokes.
He said July-August is the best time to be there.
It gets dark around 9pm, so plenty of riding hours (potentially).
Main credit cards were accepted.
They encountered a few aggressive drunks in Ulaan Bataar.
The city bus transport is electric and excellent.
