I still remember, when we were riding with the NOB and the group split, Darren, Paul, Johnny and me wanted to try the Erzberg, I had to turn around at about 75%, because I was running out of stamina, this was still rainy season and the surface was slippery. I still don't understand how Darren and Paul got to the very top of this hill climb, but they made it. So yesterday I talked George into trying this with me. After fooling around half day on Doi Pui, we had lunch at the Huay Tung Tao Lake and decided then to give it a go.

This track is a killer track, I think it is harder then "Last Man Standing". We had a few stop on different levels, mostly because we couldn't get George's XR started. This is a big problem, kick starting a bike on a steep hill can be a pain in the :kat.

After several outbursts of anger and kicking the bike, George nicely tumbled down the hill, I didn't take the Go Pro camera with me, all I had was my Samsung for taking photos. This hill, if you cannot keep up the speed, can wreck your nerves.

When I passed the section, where I had to turn around in the rainy season, I was happy to still confirm traction.
George followed up nicely, a few more roots and tree logs and another beautiful hill climb awaited us. George, said he won't go riding with me again on unknown terrain, he said this is a downhill track for mountain bikes. :WTF

After managing the very last part a light smile could be seen on his face. We returned over Doi Pui and defended at the fire station a few hundred meters down from the Palace.

Nice ride...
