Entering Myanmar with a foreign registered motorcycle


Currently impossible legally, although we have a "fixer" in Rangoon working on it.

It may be possible to get into Shan State, permits now have to be issued in advance as there is a new command in charge of the Thai military checkpoints around the Shan State border, more on this in the link below:

It is also possible to take your motorbike across the border into the Tachileik free zone in Myanmar, across the Thai border at Mai Sai.
