Doi Pui Summit

The DRZ 400 needed a test after some repairs, so did a quick jaunt up the mountain & to the Doi Pui Summit.

From the Huay Thonng Tao Lake its a nice ride up the double track to the road that leads to the Doi Pui summit -CLICK ON THE MAP TO ENLARGE IT.

Below is a zoomed map of the Doi Pui summit area, with the turn-off of the main road to get up there & the single track "nature trail" which will get you up there from the eastern side- CLICK ON THE MAP TO ENLARGE

As you can see from the photo above, the road up to the Doi Pui summit is concrete covered in moss and pine tree stems - pretty slippy & probably why its gated.

There is about a 1/2km single track up to the summit marker. For the more adventurous, the "nature trail" single rack that runs south east of the Doi Pui summit is a fantastic bit of trail

I came down the single track nature trail, going up would be fabulous. You can pick it up from the main trail, the turn off to the NW looks like this with the "nature trail" sign

Watch out for the leeches!






There a couple of logs to deal with, mossy and slippery, would be easy to have a spill on.





If someone goes up there can they bring down my left side engine case protector that will be by one of the logs! - must have come off crossing a log.

On the way down, took the concrete turn off for the campsite. Looks like this Wat was brand spanking new.

What was happening with your shots in the nature trail area? Did you have some much on your lens? Was your hand shaking ?

That new temple, are you saying that it at the campsite / on the road to the campsite ?

Didnt have a camera with me, phone photo's! Yep that Wat is right down by the campsite on the road
