Nice owner called Mr. Ho, who is from Taiwan & has the KMT/ Chinese army heritage, quite interesting to talk to him, bungalows are 350bht, if a little worn.

While we were there (high season), they were discounting rooms to 650 bht from 1,200 bht. It looks well run and interesting.

Decent restaurant in the front of the resort, so you don't have to go out in the dark & not expensive. They will do the Chinese pork leg thing.

During our roadtrip with another Dutch couple a few days ago we stayed at the Wang Put Tan Boutique Hotel.
We booked a night via booking.com for 1300 baht per room including a simple breakfast.
The 4 of us had a very nice Yunnan Hot Pot dinner at the hotel, must say Mae Salong shuts down early in the evening.....
So, we would recommend this hotel! www.wangputtan.com
