Found this dirt road on my way to Nan. It's a good alternative to the main roads. Only 60 km but far enough on a mountain bike with plenty of climbing on the first part. It starts at these coordinates 18.74103N 99.57720E and brings you out at Luang Nuea.
I camped the night before at the start of the trail and started off early the next morning.
A good ride with very little traffic. Mid morning I came across a cool waterfall.
Was a bit lazy and relaxed here for fat too long before continuing on to some great views, a spirit House and another smaller waterfall.
Still had a bit of climbing to do but found a nice sala to sleep in in a valley. Had quite a few offers to stay in a village but declined. A couple of strange ones stopped. A guy in army clothes with a branch sticking up behind his head armed with a homemade gun. Then later on a drunk guy in a pick up stopped to tell me I would get wet if it rained. Eventually got to sleep.
Next morning had a small climb then a great downhill all the way to Luang Nuea.
Not the longest dirt ride but an great alternative to the main road.
