Hello,

I am doing a research about Chinese road investments in Laos and its impact on poverty. I was looking for some cases I can investigate so far and I found only these:

Upgrade of National Route 3 as a part of North-South Corridor in Luang Numtha province.
Bridge near Lao town of Pakbeng in Oudomxay province linking Route 2W.? - 2014
Fourth Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (co-financed with Laos, Thailand and ADB).2012 - 2013
Renovation of the Road No. 13 from Nateuy to Namor district in Oudomsay province.2008 - ?
6 km extension the Road No.13 South in Champassak province in Laos to the road No.7 in Cambodia.2007 - ?
Renovation of the Road No. 13 North, which links Vientiane and the northern provinces.

If someone know any other projects that were funded with use of Chinese aid as well as more details about above projects, I would appreciate Your help.Particularly some cases need the time specification as well as exact place where they were realized.

Many Thanks

Sorry, I am a bit to busy right now to look for more info but Rd 1B from Ban Gno (Yo) on RD 19 south to the junction with Rd 2W at Ban Sinxai was finished about a year ago (see also http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/laos-information/106-road-development-road-construction-laos.html#post13524) and at the moment they are upgrading Rd. 1A from the Lantouy border crossing with China at Ban Lantouy to the junction with Rd 19 at Boun Nua (see http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/laos-information/106-road-development-road-construction-laos-5.html#post44490 and here: http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/laos-information/106-road-development-road-construction-laos-6.html#post46415).

In addition there are several roads built by the hydropower companies like Sinohydro and a good example (as there was no road before) might be the road running north from Khoua on the east side of the nam Ou to Samphanh and further north to the Nam Ou 5 hydropower project
