Recently, while up in Northern China / Beijing checking out a new bike shop, all tarted up and fully farkled Chang-Jiang 750 sidecar (China 1938 BMW R71 copy) on display....

Sunday 30/06, the Thailand assembled Monster 795 was unveiled to the public at the Shanghai showroom.

Beijing custom Harley-Davidson shop, well equipped and stocked, worth a visit while your in Beijing.The shop is not far from the 798 Art District and Lido area.




































 
The famous Orange County Choppers company opened a Beijing showroom near Sanlintun (opposite Beijing Bentley and Rolls-Royce dealerships) in late April 2013.
Some Confederate (USA) and Zero Custom (Japan) on display as well in the showroom.

Well, Ducati China does not sell the Ducati MTS 2013 line just yet and a 2012 Ducati MTS 1200S (standard basic sport version) was around 55000US$ (bike only) and you need to add approx. 15% registration / vehicle / charges to that amount plus the license plate cost, around 20-22000US$ right now for a Shanghai "A" license plate.
Got my last Shanghai "A" license plate for around 8000US$ in November 2011 to plate and register my Ducati MTS1200S Pikes Peak (2012 Limited Edition, only one imported legally through Ducati China, got this huge metal wall plague mounted on a wood base from Ducati Italy).

Apparently some changes are in the works as Ducati started to manufacture and assemble certain bike ranges in Thailand and that will somehow change the import duties and prices should come down but this country being lovely China, only time will tell.....

side-note: The recently launched Thailand manufactured Ducati Monster 795 retails for Chinese RMB119000 (US$19500 for bike only) and is available at authorized Ducati dealerships throughout China.

ps: always remember you got to pay to play in China......
 
The welcoming "nameless" bike shop not far down the road from Europlaza / International Exhibition Centre in Shunyi district (Beijing).
They did not hand me a business card that day, very grumpy people ~ oh well... GPS: N40° 04.006' E116° 32.234'
