One of the fancier places in Chiang Khong if you want to treat yourself. High season (Nov-Mar), rooms are around 1,500 Bht a night. You could try calling Mai or Nom at Chiang Khong Lifestyle in Chiang Khong, they can often get discounts with their relationships at premier accommodation in Chiang Khong:

Just thought i`d add that these rooms go for 1,000 baht in high season. They are nice clean rooms with a lovely outlook and a nice brekky included.

The whole place will benefit when the bridge downstream opens and there`ll no more trucks lined up in the main street waiting to make the ferry crossing.

They tried to charge us full rate last time we were there. From their lobby on their wifi, we booked a room while standing there for 200 bht less than they were going to charge us as the walk-in rate, be careful.

The Fortune Chiangkhong Hotel

The Fortune Chiangkhong Hotel (owned by the CP Group)

Instead of staying at my regular place - the Ban Tammila Guesthouse - I stayed this time at the Fortune Chiangkhong Hotel (with swimming pool) as Agoda was indicating that the room rate would be 850 Baht per night during mid-week. It seems that the competition has heated up as the Agoda room rate for the Teak Garden Hotel (Ibis Styles Hotels) was 880 Baht (mid-week rate).

The Walk-in rate was 1200 Baht which included breakfast so it is better to book through one of the many hotel reservation sites - Location coordinates N20.25774 E100.40965.
