Beautiful Chiang Mai Flower Festival, Famous! Part 1

This year the festival was from 6.2. – 8.2.2015. I thought it is festival with some trucks and some people, but wrong, it is a very big festival with about 30 big beautiful decorated trucks and many different groups. My englisch is not so good, so let the pictures speak:

The preparations on 5.2. an 6.2., real flowers no plastic.

In the evening a show with a contest, singers and cultural dance








The Miss… contest was with a group of tourist girls and a group of thai girls. The tourist girls must do something like sing a song or dance or whatever you can do, just for fun. I think the winner got 5000 baht.

My guesthouse restaurant told me on Saturday is the big procession and they will start on the river. So drive to the river in the morning when everybody set up.

The days around the flower festival is hard work for taxidriver because some roads closed for cars, now he is tired

This year I been in Chinda House, it is in small road 7-10min to walk from Tapae Gate. The room with TV, Hot Water and freezer is 400 Baht. They have cheaper rooms too.



This first days I drive only with a Honda Wave around because this bike is very easy in the city. When the Flower Festival was finished I rent a CRF 250 from POP for 650Baht/day and pay him 2 weeks. POP has now about 600 motorbikes and he is the biggest in asia but always very friendly when I see him.

My first enduro-week I drove alone for look something new and take pictures. The second week I drove with 4 friends. For the motorbike-trip I will make a new thread. In the next thread “The North-West End Tours of Thailand” we met the “Road to Mandaly” Rallay in Mae Hong Son.
