Be careful out there

The news of Butch killed in a accident in Tibet brings out again the need to be careful out there - not only in Laos but also in all the other countries. Just got some pictures from Laos - presumably from traffic on road 4B (Kasy to Nan) that roads and road conditions can suddenly change with the weather. Just a few pictures to show what a bit if rain or low hanging fog or clouds can do in particular in the mountains:

Like Butch, I have ridden MOST areas of China now and done my fair amount of riding in Thailand and Laos.

Even before I heard the sad news about Butch, I have decided China is not a safe place to ride.

Only been back here 6 weeks and have nearly been killed 6 times.


Yes, you will talk about how bad Thailand is with the drunk driver, dogs, bad roads etc.

But at lest "generally" speaking Thail do stop and look.
Well, here in China that just don't happen?

On a factor of 10 is how much safer Thail / Laos is compared to China.

Bye Bye China, here I come Thailand.
When guys like Butch, who was a very experience ride and has ridden in China for close to 30 years now.
And you read stuff like this, its time to relocate?
