Hi fellow bikers,
I travelled a lot in my early twenties, then found a steady, "normal" life in Germany. But last year my long relationship ended and my employer went bankrupt. So I did the only sensible thing... and went on a indefinite motorbiking/surf trip across Asia (Sumatra, Bali, Sumba, Timor, Rote, Japan, Taiwan, Phillipines), Europe (Germany, Switzerland, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden) and now South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru so far). I've ridden 17 different bikes, from a nimble 150cc honda dirt bike in Indonesia, to a absurdly powerful MT-09 in Japan, my own Duke 790 in Europe and now a 450 MT for south america. I've done abut 50.000 kilometers on this trip so far, and I'm still going - I can't put into words how much I enjoy living this dream that I've had for so long.
Then, I'm neurodivergent; I don't have any mental sensory recall or imagination. (It's called Aphantasia, I can neither imagine things in my head nor visually recall any memories) So I figured I'm going to film the interesting parts of the trip, and soon realized that hours of raw video footage isn't really the thing you watch again - so I started cutting it. And then I figured, when I'm already cutting it, I might as well put in online and see if any other people enjoy watching it.
So, Instead of a written ride report, I'd like to share my visual ride report. It's intended for fellow bikers, as there's way to much riding footage in there to appeal to the casual youtuber.
The first video is about be getting the first bike of the trip in Medan in Sumatra, making it out of the city, into the mountains and climbing a volcano:
Now I don't know if this visual format is welcome here, so if not, then mods, please just delete.
If it's welcome, then please enjoy, and also please feel free to provide feedback - are you enjoying the video, is there something you think I can improve?
I'll also post further videos in this thread then as I get them finished.
Cheers, Max
