I tried another sd card and it writes to that, so must be the sd card that is the problem
Thats easily fixed
Alex - is that in response to my post?

Guess that this reply should have been in the thread on the 60CSX as Alex had problems with the GPS not writing the tracks to the SD card in his 60CSX GPS.Alex - is that in response to my post?

Yes sorry about that
However Matt, I was reading about problems with Oregon screens locking up due to the circuitry on side of digitizer/LCDs.
As yours is intermittent, maybe its the beginning of the end.
But the new Oregon screens dont have the same problem, and Montana LCDs are about $75
Matt's is still under warranty?
Well, its a Montana 600 (personally don't want a camera in a GPS) and picked up the full Touratech package a few days ago: Garmin Montana 600 + Locking Mount & Cradle Package - Touratech-USA (<click link) and the lockable TT mount / cradle should overcome the shake, rattle and roll on China's roads.
Playing around with the Montana 600 in a car for the last few days and coming from the Garmin Zumo range, what a difference in screen and set-up possibilities, amazing....
ps: trying to get a decent topo map for China through some contacts, more on this later on....
er no, in Chiang Mai computer shop
Its the best user interface and display ive ever used for a gps and ive had lots of them....marine and non marine
+1
Used the Garmin Montana 600 extensively for 4 weeks in California / USA and the last two weeks in Shanghai / Beijing (China) and what can I say with the new Garmin City Navigator China NT 2008 microSD-card everything is spot on without any offset.
Many GPS owners complain about a 400-500m offset in Mainland China with Garmin GPS units and the Garmin City Navigator China NT 2008 microSD-card
Did not like the way the lockable Touratech Mount should be installed onto the Ducati Multistrada with a steel bar and two screws and ordered a new GPS mount here: BikePenR <<< click web-link.
They have an importer / distributor for Thailand as well: BikePenR <<< click web-link.
