The dilemma: While the whole world (or at least most of the UK) sits at home watching it raining on Queenie's Parade, do I a. do the same, or b. Join a couple of mates for a spin up the west coast of Scotland?

You've guessed the answer. Easy really, considering I've never been there on a bike and the further north we went, the better the weather got. Who can honestly say, 5 consecutive days in Scotland and no rain...

Setting off from Huddersfield and after too many beers over night at Tan Hill, Steve and I ride to Dumfries to meet up with Nick, Natalia and Robin. There's a 1/2 hour delay while Steve fixes a puncture:

Wow, looks like you guys had nice weather for a change - quite a bit better than what the telly showed here from the UK. Thanks for showing some nice pictures of riding bikes in your part of the world.

Looks like a much better option than sitting home watching the TV Chris & what great weather you had for Scotland!

Hey Chris

Thanks so much for sharing your ride & terrific photos.

Applecross & the Coolins across the water hold wonderful memories for me.

Lovely scenery.

One July I rode up from norfolk on my GPz750 and spent a few days in the Cairngorms, the weather was fantastic, best they ever had :DD

Great pictures there Chris, Scotland certainly has a lot of appeal and you had a totally different weather pattern than what we had down in the south.
My mate goes up to Scotland a lot and hes always telling me I would enjoy riding up there, now I know what he means

Hi gents
Many thanks for the nice words about my pics.

We certainly played a complete blinder with the weather.

I'm off to Central Asia/ Russia/ Mongolia this summer. The cunning plan is at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/t ... ssia-63697

I try to get out trail riding in the UK a little bit too. The following is from North Wales a few weeks ago.

How NOT to do it (but more entertaining) and me (how to do it), but less amusing for spectators
