Warning: Road 3 from Huayxay to Viengphoukha in Laos is slippery when wet
Travelled today from Houyxay to Luang Namtha and counted at least 6 accidents along this road. There was heavy rain yesterday evening in Chiangkhong and the Huayxay area and I assume this resulted in Rd 3. becoming slippery. So watch out once the rainy season starts or if there has been a heavy downpour.
In addition to these three Chinese trucks I saw two big Thai Fuel Trailers with cosmetic damage along the road although I am not sure what happened with one of the trailers as only the truck was standing along the road but the road was covered with fuel and oil so I guess it was also a major mishap. In addition there was one Chinese sedan parked with the nose in a ditch and the rear pointing to the sky.
