Trails bike for the first time behind 700 Year Stadium

Every time we'd planned to go out recently, it looked like the rain Gods were listening and it pissed down when we were supposed to be leaving. At last there was a break in the rain and we managed to get out there and give the trails bike a test.

The low speed torque from the gearing is quite amazing, it gives immense control at low speeds on steep gradients, you rarely have to use 1st gear, 2nd gear can almost cope with anything, in 1st it will often just spin and stop you

The thing you notice quite quickly is how hot you get trails riding. Because the speed are so low, there's no airflow to cool you down like you get enduro riding, so you overheat pretty quickly in 32 deg cent. air temp. with no breeze - TAKE LOTS OF WATER WITH YOU.

With a 60kg bike and this gearing, its laughable how easy it is to lift the front wheel to get over something, a real joy

They are incredible fun, there's probably about 10 of us that have them in Chiang Mai - on a day up by a rocky waterfall, take some ice cold drinks and sit under a tree and play all day on the trials bikes will be a great day oit
