Today was a perfect day for a ride and a friend said he would meet me at a new complex on 107.
So I rode out through Mae Rim, past the wonderful Chiang Dao ......

... and further along 107 towards Chai Prakan.

Just past the 1346 junction to Phrao it became obvious what I was meant to see.
We met on the roadside here.

For the duration of October entrance to this Hinoki (which I believe is a Cypress tree) Town is FREE.
From November it will be a 200 baht entrance fee if you happen to be born Thai and 250 if not!!
Yes, another place that discriminates against us.
So, as long as it was free, I had a look around.

If the visitors wish to be Japanese for a few hours these costumes can be rented for 300 baht.

Yes, there were many hundreds of visitors today and most were heavily into the 'selfie' syndrome.

Here's the guy who has invested a fortune into this commercial enterprise, already recouping some of his baht.
Khun Anirut.

The place is not yet complete.

A good thing about today's rushed ride is that I saw many things that need further investigation!

Blimey what an unusual costume. It failed to keep the mosquitos at bay looking at her ankles.
