Thai Motorcycle in Malaysia

Hello
I am working in Malaysia for app 1 year, I have a Thai motorbike I would like to use,
How to do ?

I read te tread from Singapore to Thailand, and he diskussed a temporary import to malaysia for 1 month, but I need app 1 year.
Could someone point me in the right direction ?

You can only legally take the bike out for 30 days at a time.. Up to recently you could overstay for up to 6 months for only 1000b fine on return, but thats a very grey area just now as it seems to rules are changing.

However the Border points at Sadao are very open, and it would seem possible to simply ride the bike through without any legal controls, this isnt the 'legit' way to do this, but it should work in my experience.

You may use Thai registered car or motorcycle in Malaysia as long as you like providing you have full comprehensive insurance. During my 8 years stay in Malaysia there was a time when I kept my Thai registered car in KL for a year. I made few inquiries, found insurance company willing to insure my car and all went well.
