Thai Excise Tax Used Motorcycle Pricing

Lot's going on in relation to legally importing used motorcycles into Thailand, I'm told there's an increase in the cost of doing this after September 9th, 2012 associated with Thai excise tax.

Below are some of the used bike values that Thai Customs use in assessing the excise tax.

I saw a long thing posted on facebook, which was a garbled translation of Thai.. Saying how all the big bike importers were getting together to protest a new law change, that would prevent ANY grey import parts bikes being registered. Less relevant to off Rd perhaps but very relevant considering theres so few legit main dealer channels.

!!! ผลเสียขอประกาศนี้ถ้าผ่านความเห็นชอบจากรัฐบาล รถมอไซด์ประกอบที่อยู่ในประเทศที่ยัอไม่ยื่นจดทะเบียน หรือรถ INV จะต้องยื่นจดทะเบียนภายใน 30 วันหลังจากประกาศ ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่เป็นไปไม่ได้ที่ระยะเวลาแค่ 30 วัน จะให้ยื่นจดทะเบียน คาดการว่ารถ INV ที่มีอยู่ประมาณ เป็นหมื่นคันที่ยังไม่จดทะเบียน
