Temple of Preah Vihear

The ruins is one that is in the bucket list having missed it in 2007 while I was somewhere near the belt. Way much quieter than Angkor Wat. Gives a lot of time to be able to soak in the ambience, colors and sense.

Entered through Chanthaburi / Prum Pailin immigration and made a stopover in Samroeng. A half day visit to Prasat Preah Vihear before making an easy exit at Choam Sa Ngam Pass, Anlong Veang - Si Saket border.

Chanthaburi - Pailin - Battambang - Sisophon - Kralanh - Samroeng - Anlong Veaeng - Preah Vihear.

Thai border post which is currently closed.

Thanks for posting this - great pictures and great trip. Might be there in a few weeks time and wonder if I would be able to enter Cambodia at Anlong Veang with my truck instead of the Chong Chom crossing which I used to visit Siem Reap a few years ago. Did you see any Thai cars entering Cambodia here or have info if that would be possible - any "fixers" at the border? Would like to go to Phrea Vihaer again - have been there before but at that time I entered from Thailand which at the moment is no longer possible so would like to try the Anlong Veang crossing

I was on Olympus Tough and trusted Samsung S4.

I had a chat with some locals while waiting for issuance of Temporary Import Permit. Most apparently came for the casinos and yes I did see a couple of Thailand registered plate vehicles so I am assuming yes. However I am not sure about the fixers option.

Thanks for the info Yempaul - will try my luck and see what the outcome is. It is often a gamble as much depends on who is at that moment in charge so what today is not possible might be passible the next day.
