This is definitely one of the best ways to improve your off-road riding skills. Slow speed, clutch control, throttle control, wheel placement at slow speeds, balance, its all there, an easy way to speed up the off-road learning curve for sure, even if it scares the shit out of you.

There is a fantastic area perfect for trials riding practice WNW of HTT lake that we've been going to, Paul, who's been trials riding a while and competes has been using this area for practice for a while, I think they hold trials events there because the area is so perfect.

Turned out to be loose on the steep bit and traction was an issue

John giving the same place a shot ( I didn't even want to attempt it)

Must have just missed you guys, was riding in the area and popped by around 12 but no one was there. Looks like good fun

Paul about to attempt a really nasty, slippy rock face

It NEVER NEVER shows how nasty it is in the photo's, none of us want to attempt it.

Excellent attack speed

But just too slippy

Admire his courage even attempting this

John offered his bike to Sombat & Somchai & in their flip-flops, they were eager to give it a shot, we had no idea if they could ride or not!

All-in-all, its a great social event for a few hours with everyone in the same vicinity, highly enjoyable. We'll have to make a regular schedule.

Excellent photo's again Phil, except that one of my hind quarters, does my bum look big in those pants?!

Next time your going.. Drop me an SMS..

Tho the steering bearings in my gas gas need replacing and jamies been ignoring me.

Does anyone else normal ride boots really tough to wear for trials.. Not supple enough with enough ankle flex ?? I actually dropped down to skate shoes as I cant get a good feeling with my normal boots. Need something lighter with more flex / feel.

Excellent. :DD

Lesson; we never know who's out there watching and we don't know how good they are.

Who is 'Paul'?

Were the rear tyre pressures way low?

Cool to see the Thai guys knew what they were doing.

Paul' s a British guy that rides with us, an excellent trials rider.

Tire pressure, I think most people run 8 psi.

Never sent from an I-Phone

Not a smart move at all, it all seems fine until it isn't. I've had some pretty hard knocks on my feet on the trials bike with MX boots, with skate shoes I'd hate to think what I might have broken..........

Might not be so capable with one foot once his Chinese safety boots give way?

Zis vill not happen as they only use za finest of Flop for these activity's . Also it vill encourage him to use the " no dab technique " ( trials talk ) vhen preceding through za more devilish of section .

I know its not a smart move, hence why I mentioned it as something I want to change.. I mashed a few bones in my foot as a teenager, and have been a boot wearer ever since !!

I really cant get any kind of brake control or feel out of the MX boots I have. So need to find either a lighter more flexible proper bike boot.. Or some 'combat' style surplus boot ?? Or something.. As the ones I have are really not working out for me. While trials does put a risk on your feet, I cant think the low speeds have the same level of protection needed.. More just foot and ankle cover.

Maybe these Vintage Trials: ARE YOU READY BOOTS ? Combined with za Rekluse

Did you know if you re-arrange the letters in Rekluse it spells clueless!

No it disnae! what school did you go to, it obviously rearranges itself intae "yourabawbag"

Im gonna have to wear my Monster Feet Crocs as its the only way I can reach the gear change lever, should be awright....

You should have let the little kid in the pink croc's have a go i am sure she would have done equally as well, she only looks about three but probably been riding for two of those three years :G

What about these as an option i have had a pair for two years now and they feel like sneakers but give good protection.
