If you want to splash out this new hotel is on route 4 costing 1,000 baht a night with free breakfast and wifi (reception building) as you would expect rooms and bright and clean and promise a good nights sleep even though a disco is behind the hotel.

I called in there but decided it was too expensive, think they quoted 1500 baht or more. Said they had another hotel in Luang Prabang.

Spent a night in Xayaboury in a new hotel called the Vannikhone Guesthouse (Phone 074-211959 and 020-22482345). Brand new, smallish rooms with aircon, fan, hot water, Cable TV with BBC and CNN and Thai/Lao/Vietnamese/Chinese channels and very good WiFi - 100,000 Kip per night (about 400 Baht) - no breakfast but free coffee and fruit. Located at coordinates N19.27096 E101.71178

Pretty nice rooms for 100k Kip, there is also a restaurant out the gate turn right 100 metres serves good food (evenings can get interesting).
