RideAsia.net group trip to the Shan State (Myanmar) rebel Army ceremonial parade day 7th February, 2012
After our recent venture into the Loi Tai Leng, Shan State Myanmar's rebel Army base, we were invited by officials within the Army camp, to come for their ceremonial parade day on 7th February, 2012.
We can arrange the necessary permits to get into the rebel Army camp for this ceremonial day for those who would be interested in coming with us.
From Chiang Mai, it's about 230km to the Thai/ Shan State, Myanmar border, then north west through into Shan State, Myanmar, where the rebel army base is located. Being February & the dry season when this ceremony/ parade will take place, the dirt/unmade sections of the roads to get there shouldn't be an issue. The last 6km to the Thai/ Shan state, Myanmar border is dirt with some concrete paths.
