Privatization of waterfalls, etc. in Houaphan Province?
Tad Nam Nouan
The Bounthavysup Road and Irrigation Construction Company has been granted a right to a 70-year concessional project to turn the Nua waterfall one of the natural tourist sites in Viengxai district (Tad Nam Nouan) into a more attractive destination in Viengxay district, Huaphan Province. The project development area covers over 180 ha of Vanghai, Nathane and Hanglong villages in Viengxay district, Houaphanh province.
Bounthavysup is the second private company to have been granted right from the provincial authorities to develop tourist site in the northern province after Airkong Private Company was authorized to develop Tad Saleuay waterfallt site with an investment of 3 billion kip last month.
Tad Saleuay
Houaphanh Province has granted a concessional right of Tad Saleuay waterfall-tourist site to the Airkong Private Company. Saleuay waterfall is a tourist destination in Xamneua district, Houaphanh province. The first phase of the project will run between 2017 and 2019. It will include the improvement of existing parking area, a road access to tourist site, a trekking path to the top of the waterfall, the construction of an embankment, a natural sightseeing platform, a restaurant, a bridge over the waterfall and relaxing area. As for the second phase 2019-2021, the company will carry out two construction projects including a Lao-styled house resort to serve tourists.
