Not sure if anyone wants to escape the Songkran madness in Chiangmai and join in a similar but more gentle madness in Luang Prabang but here is the program of the festivities in Luang Prabang. In case you want to go, please book accommodation as soon as possible as normally the hotels and Guesthouses are fully booked during that period.

Tomorrow (14 April) will be the time when the Luang Prabang people build sandcastles in the Mekong - locally called Don Sai Mung Khun. This year the Mekong is still quite high so they are not sure if they can accommodate all the people who want to build a sand castle/sand stupa.
