Since a good many of us have just had issues with Photobucket, maybe this is a good time to discuss the other options out there that may be a better deal, any offers ???

I exchanged a few e-mails with Photobucket just before they moved over to the new site last month and I couldnt have wished for a better service.

Andrew was the guy who answered all my emails and he guided me to moving over effortlessly.

This minor hiccup since rideasia moved to the new host on monday has been fully sorted as far as I can see and I will remain using Photobucket.

As far as exceeding the bandwidth is concerned just open more accounts using a different email address for each one, I currently have three using each one for ten days of the month

Iv`e got something like 450 pics on PhotoBucket and only used about 3% of my alloted space on there because i resize the pics (much quicker) before i upload them there.
It resizes rather large batches in a few seconds...

I find the system in place here on the forum itself incredibly easy to use....... left click on "Insert Image" then click on "From Computer", then "Basic Uploader" then "Browse" takes me to my photo files...... choose a pic to upload and hit "Upload Files"...... easy peasy!

Just done this one of a Thai style queue as I was writing!

A few years ago I wanted to get away from Photobucket as it wasn't presenting my images how I wanted them, when I needed to share with someone by telling them to visit the album there.

I looked at a few options and felt that I wanted to be in control of how I wanted it by doing myself.

I found that the cost of webhosting in actual fact equaled what folks like smugmug were charging, sometimes cheaper.

Having taken out a hosting pakage, I then put a simple website on that & was happy to be able to point people to my photos in a site looking how I wanted it! When I now ride, I post the images to my website & copy the links from there & paste them into the forum here. Currently I cannot paste that link code because of the issue that Colin and others are experiencing that I am trying to sort out with vB & our hosting and will eventually be ok

If you are in anyway web savvy, it's a relatively simple task to achieve your own gallery.
