One-legged Matt's Laos tourroute

One of our intrepid N.O.B riders, who had an accident first time out on his KTM 300 exc-e and is out of action for 6 months, is on his first tout of Laos. Armed with some great route information, he's currently still in Laos (in his truck) & is sending some photo's when he can get a data signal.

He's sent through some pretty good photo's already, more to come

Then I came across this. I honestly was shitting my self. Look at the Toyota on the other side. It was fucking huge, storm moving in and getting dark.

4x4 vigo - I thought he was going down. I thought I'm not going back so I gave it a shot. It's boulders underneath so up and down. Made it over the water

Still blocked! Guy in a4x4 tried going around a different way and got stuck for an hour. Fair play to him he managed to get it out.

This is the view I had. Was a bit worried at this point.

I gave these woman a lift in the back of my truck for about 10km. I accelerated off a bridge and one face planted in the back of my truck - was really loud. Lucky she was ok

He's even given some notation which will be useful in those regions

Wow, and that all with a 2WD truck on the HoChiMinh trail - congratulations on getting through. Must have been scary at times I guess. Somehow I missed many of the pictures but it looks a great trip.

Good that you did not try to head north from Toumlan (you tried but went back). The road north is very bad with lots of big rocks and boulders in the road - even on a bike this is difficult.
