A new Myanmar Consulate is now open in Chiang Mai, the article goes on to say it will perform the same tasks as the embassy in Bangkok, that should mean easier to obtain visa's :jump

The consulate should now be open (they had to wait for the Thai government providing official acknowledgement of the consulate). The consulate is located at 9/4 Hassadisewi Rd. which is the road which runs north from the corner of the moat of Bunruengrit Rd and Huaykaeo/Mani Nopparat Rd. From the corner go north to the Cheeva Spa (on the right) and the consulate should be just inside the soi (Maninopparat Soi 3) to the right just past the Cheeva Spa

The Myanmar Consulate General in Chiang Mai covers nine Northern provinces; Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son and Uttaradit and it will provide visas to Myanmar as well as offer services for Myanmar citizens.
