Hello Pascal,

We will be leaving KL for a 500km ride to be in Golok this Saturday at 1700, staying at Marina Hotel. The next day ( Sunday 10th) we ride the border rural roads to Betong. Its about 270kms with some off tarmac sections. We will pass Bang Lang Dam on our way to Betong. We stay Betong for the night and leave for KL on Monday. There will be 12 of us, all GS except one, a Multistrada 2.

And yes, we know about the travel advisories and the 2 deaths per day average since 2004. The roads, scenery and people are too nice to let these minor issues stand in the way.

You're most welcome to join us. You can leave Phuket on Saturday morning and be back Monday evening.

Cheers from KL.

I spent two weeks riding Yala and Narathiwat province in february/march, it was my second time of doing it and never once did I feel unsafe or encounter any problems.
Riding around the back of the bang Lang Dam is a nice twisty ride as you will see from the two links below, they will be posted on Rideasia as I get to them but as you will probably be on your trip by then here they are including the gps track

Thank You Captain Slash. I rode the Route in February, two days after a big firefight at Si Sakhon. Moose came along on the ride. Despite that like you said, not once we feel unwelcome, and the atmosphere of Doom and Gloom is non-existant.

And thanks for the route.

Cheers
Nik.
