Last night Phil, BobS and his friend Tim arrived in town, we met up for a chat but this morning Bob and Tim left so it was just Phil and myself for todays ride
DSCF0447.jpg

Phils desire was to ride on roads that I hadnt ridden before, a tall order but some new ones were located, we headed out on the 1080 and north of Thung Chang we took a left onto the 2024

They were very friendly here and told us about a track leading up into the hills to an army camp

We ride back to the village and carry on riding along the 2024 until it comes to a junction where we take a left to ride towards the border
DSCF0466.jpg

A couple of km before the border is the checkpoint and its the end of the road for us

DSCF0468.jpg

Time to ride back down this steep track that has these concrete strips on the worst part
DSCF0469.jpg

We ride back to the fork and take a left which will go back to the 1080
DSCF0470.jpg

Its a very dusty track with lovely scenery

We reach the 1080 turn right and after about 15-20 km take a right onto a new road the 006 as the sign said
DSCF0483.jpg

Its a fantastic new surface with lots of bends and we ride without stopping until we reach the start of the unpaved section and here is a steep climb on concrete strips

Back on the 1080 and we take a left to ride a piece of asphalt that turns to a dirt track
DSCF0507.jpg

Its a fun one that meets up with the 3029 where we tun right and ride back to Nan both exhausted after a fun days riding exploring new roads for both of us

I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days with Colin over in Nan exploring and mapping some new trails --- more to come.
