A fast food outlet thats a mix of KFC and Pizza Hut

Extremely packed as I walk in but the food doesnt take long to arrive

119 Baht for that lot and very filling

99 Baht for the small pizza but as a set its 199 Baht for the lot, I just about found room for the pizza

Two pork burgers and large fries for 97 Baht, I certainly left filled up

Two filling chicken burgers and large fries for 117 Baht

This place was busy when I got here at 8am, a good sign in one way but lots of Westerners sometimes mean the food has been toned down

A large plate of rice for sure but as I was dreading, the food was rather bland tasting and not a patch on what I was eating in Mae Sarieng

I then have a beef curry and a freshly made naan bread that was nice, the whole meal was only 64 Baht so not bad price wise but just a shame it wasnt hot and fiery too

I start eating at the only empty table but then I get some eating companions join me, a very friendly lot of people in here and the two Muslim girls spoke very good English

A chicken curry was enjoyed here and a very nice meal too for 45 Baht

A chilli chicken for 35 Baht, it was nice but not particularly hot

Chicken masaman, delicious and 45 Baht

Beef curry, 40 Baht and very enjoyable indeed

I had both chicken curries and it was delicious, 80 Baht for the buffet.
Mae Sot finally has some good Indian/Pakistani/Sri Lankan food here

A hot spicy beef curry and brown rice for 135 Baht

Burmese food here and this is supposed to be a spicy dish.

My pork curry arrives but although the flavour is pleasant enough if this is their idea of spicy I shudder to think how bland the mild version is, 80 Baht including rice

Today was the grand opening of a new burger bar in Mae Sot, there are posters for it everywhere and I decided to try it out

This is a volunteer restaurant helping the Burmese refugees, I believe its a non profit one too

Famous Ray's at N16.71194 E098.56133 or 61/3 Ban Tung Road for those without GPS

My western burger and fries for 125 Baht

I was well satisfied with my burger and it certainly filled me up

A burger is 100 Baht, for an extra 15 Baht you get an extra beef patty and 10 more Baht for cheese on that gets you a nice tasty half pounder for 125 Baht.
150 Baht including the lovely fries and I was stuffed

Sadly Sara's Indian restaurant is closing at the end of this month, this was the message on Facebook

There is an old saying that says something like, "When a door gets closed, a window opens up!" - so, be alert and watch for new windows out there; Maybe one of them will be named Sara's again
...
In the meantime, we would like to thank to all our wonderful customers & friends for enabling us to have such a great time together, and we hope to see many of you once more at Sara's during the remaining days of June.

I'll add a vote for Mai-Thai restaurant (a few posts above). Thai is a lovely lady... and her fish is almost as good as the John Dory at Riders Corner.



That's Thai in the blue. I do believe she's sitting on my leg there... I can assure you, it was just for the photo...

Just 30 metres further down the lane, btw, is the guesthouse I stayed at a couple of times. Can't recall the name... there's two. This is the one on the right.... and yes, I'm getting a mother & daughter massage from the staff there...



Great guesthouse with good bike security. Had a scooter that I rented for a few days. Depending on room, I seem to recall it being 300 / 400 baht.

Good kid running the front desk. I do believe I bought he and his Burmese mates a bottle of whisky



... and he introduced me to Monika, from Poland

Chicken Karahi, a 1/2 kg portion and two nan breads for 250 Baht it was delicious and well worth the money.
I will be exploring the menu here on future visits

I had the chicken Kadai and the chicken tikka boti, 150 Baht for that lot and it was delicious
