A few km east of town I take a right at N16.46.290 E098.40.483 and its a dirt track from this point

Not far along here and I stop at Wat Tham Inthanin at N16.45.989 E098.40.345

I ride on hoping to find a track heading south but its a dead end at this building

DSCF4890.jpg

I try another track but this too doesnt look like its going anywhere
DSCF4891.jpg

Time to turn around and look elsewhere
DSCF4892.jpg

Riding west back towards Mae Sot and I take a left at N16.45.715 E098.38.620 where these lads are sitting, this is an unpaved track
DSCF4893.jpg

The track splits, I take the left but its soon another dead end

I ride back to the fork taking the other one and the road returns to paved at N16.45.295 E098.38.389

At N16.45.356 E098.38.154 I take a left onto an unpaved track
DSCF4901.jpg

I have no idea what this is around here, theres no signs and the GPS is a blank
DSCF4903.jpg

Just past it and another dead end
DSCF4904.jpg

DSCF4905.jpg

Anyone looking for an old tractor?
DSCF4906.jpg

I dont think this ones moved for a while
DSCF4907.jpg

I am now heading east past the Huai Mae Sot reservoir and the road turns to unpaved at N16.42.103 E098.37.562
DSCF4908.jpg

At a crossroads the ESRI shows the track as going straight ahead but theres a lorry blocking the way, I take a right and I am riding very close to the track showing and at N16.42.726 E098.38.755 the road suddenly turns into this lovely surface.
To my left I can see the old unpaved track that the GPS shows
DSCF4909.jpg

DSCF4910.jpg

The road turns to dirt at N16.42.691 E098.39.442 and I am now on the track showing on the GPS but as I climb I look to my right and see a shiny asphalt surface that doesnt show on the GPS so I turn back to ride to it.
I reach it at N16.42.692 E098.39.569 and the asphalt goes in both directions, I take the left
DSCF4911.jpg

While its a lovely surface, this is the view of the scenery
DSCF4912.jpg

I reach a crossroads and right goes to here, left was the track showing on the GPS and ahead is a concrete road
DSCF4913.jpg

DSCF4914.jpg

DSCF4915.jpg

The concrete road went down into a village where fuel was sold in bottles at N16.43.187 E098.39.759

DSCF4917.jpg

I ride on and the road turns to dirt at N16.43.418 E098.39.840

DSCF4921.jpg

Here was a dead end, I backtrack a bit and take a left, the GPS shows this going for a very short way
DSCF4922.jpg

I stop in a dried up river bed
DSCF4923.jpg

Its a bumpy rocky track but I ride on to see where it goes to
DSCF4924.jpg

DSCF4925.jpg

Heres where I decide to call it a day concerning this track and ride back
DSCF4926.jpg

DSCF4927.jpg

DSCF4928.jpg

At the crossroads I take a right and here it turns to unpaved at N16.42.971 E098.39.790.
I ride on and take a left to get to that new road to see where the right turn went to, it only went for about 100 metres then stopped dead
DSCF4929.jpg

I decide to ride back towards the 1090 on the unpaved track that the GPS shows
DSCF4930.jpg

Its a pleasant easy track
DSCF4931.jpg

I reach a fork and take the left thinking this was the correct one but after a while I realise I am now on a third track riding in the middle, this joins up with the track I was on earlier and I ride back to the 1090 taking a right
DSCF4932.jpg

I had hardly got going along the 1090 when it felt like my back tyre was on oil and I realised it was a puncture, I have never had a tyre go down this quickly before.
I rode it very slowly to a vehicle place but they said no and pointed into town
DSCF4933.jpg

Thankfully it wasnt far to this shop at N16.43.164 E098.35.462 and they quickly had the wheel out but unfortunately there were seven holes that I could get my finger into in the tube.
A new one was obtained from a shop somewhere, an 18 inch IRC one but a 3.25 and not a 4.60 like was in it, 300 Baht later it was done and I was off.
I thought the handling was a bit different and the bike really noticed different patterns in the surface so I stopped and checked the pressure, my guage only goes up to 50psi and the needle was virtually back round to the zero so there must have been around 60 psi in that back tyre.
I let it down to around the 22 psi that it should have and it felt much better
DSCF4934.jpg

Not much time left now so a quick ride north to explore a couple of roads I havent been on before, the first one quickly turned to dirt and here I turned around
DSCF4935.jpg

DSCF4937.jpg

The second one was a lovely twisty road that finished when it met the 3006

Two chicken burgers and large fries at Jumpin chicken&pizza for 117 Baht
