The official opening was on 27-10-12.

At one point they closed the road in front of the shop for some stunts on a modified KTM Duke 200

On the same day of the opening party, I picked up my new independently imported KTM 500 xcw.
Despite no plates as yet, I decided it would be a good idea to ride over to the new KTM shop and check it out.

A popular mod in the US is to have the competition map loaded onto the ECU.
Well, it turns out some KTM techs and reps were over from Malaysia and had the necessary tools to reflash my ECU




In due course, a service center will be opened in a separate building. They intend to offer spare parts, Motorex products etc.

The 990 is $18,880 tax paid. Just need to get a plate, $30-40, and its fully road legal in Cambodia.

Apart from the bikes in the shop, they have around 50 new bikes stored at another location in Phnom Penh.

Was in there this morning.. Told Seila theres people emailing who want to buy bikes and not hearing back. He apologized and said they literally only got internet installed a couple of days ago. True or not I cant say.. He did say he had emailed Chris back about the freeride 350 (confirmed ??).

The service shop is not set up at all yet. And while they keep saying they can order parts for any KTM when I told him I want head bearings and fork seals, oil filter, etc etc.. The actual fact is they are not yet able to. I hope at some point they get up to speed but right now, its not happening.

Was quoted $11585 for the Freeride. Said they'd have one by 17th. Compared to the other bike prices, that seemed comparatively expensive.

Thats in line with the freeride price in the west... I think its 6300 GBP ?? So over 10k usd..

You cant expect the pricing to be the same steep rise or fall over the CC range that happens in thailand.. Thats due to the Thai taxes hitting the price... KTM Cambodia seems to just be te western prices without the tax levels. Basically you dont get new KTMs in the 3 -4 k GBP range.

The SMC-R is just sooooo trick.. Just dripping in tasty billet and anodized bits.. I may breakdown yet..

I just mean the price difference between the excf250 and Freeride in Cam and UK, seemed out of wack. £6999 and 6299, iirc. Maybe I've done the sums wrong - will check. But, I was figuring @308000 thb for the Freeride. Think I'm off for a wr250 or 450f anyways...

EDIT: Yep, so the $11585 price they gave me for the Freeride is more than that of the 250excf ($11470)- compared to a £700 lower price in the UK for the Freeride. Not sure why that's the case... But put me off. Their other prices look OK though.
