Total distance 446 km
The view from my bedroom window this morning at about 7am, I was considering going up into the mountains again to carry on exploring as it looked so good but then Lip Meng turned up with some brochures for me and advised me to go to Melaka today as Chinese new year is about to start and rooms will be hard to find there
I took the 5, E19, 73 then the A17 to get as scenic a ride as possible
Its lovely and green along here
Most of todays ride is along the 5 and its just a dual carriageway
I ride along the coast for a way but nothing scenic here
About 25 km from Port Dickson the 5 suddenly comes alive and its a fun twisty road but I am now in a hurry as time is getting on and I have a fair way still to go.
My map says 349 km from Ipoh to Melaka, my scenic route turned into 446 km, but it was a pleasant ride on a mainly sunny day
The guest houses listed in my LP book were all fully booked so I had to look around, I was getting quotes of 600 Baht a night, I opted to take a dormitory room here at N02.11.794 E102.14.874 for 150 Baht
This place is very clean
With hot shower too
Definitely Chinatown
The pigs are being butchered in the street
My LP book lists this as a fabulous Pakistani restaurant and it is too, its at N02.11.693 E102.14.610
I order three pieces of Tandoori chicken plus a garlic nan, it was delicious, cost 205 Baht and completely filled me up.
