Thanks Ron for posting this. Another good read on the KMT and their resettlement in Thailand is "The Secret Army" by Richard M. Gibson who was the USA Consul General in Chiangmai around 1990. I do have a copy of it but for me it is a bit of a slow read as the book is loaded with details and hundreds of references to other interesting information (most in Chinese).
