India immigration visa's issued in Chiang Mai

It is possible to obtain an Indian immigration visa in Chiang Mai, Thailand.


For "westerners", the process can take up to one week, Indian visa fee is 4,700 Bht (Thai nationals Indian visa fee is 1,700 Bht and can be processed in 1 working day).




Procedure


1. Complete the Indian visa application form from their website and print out:

2. Your Indian visa will be issued for 3 months. The visa will start from the day it has been issued - IT DOES NOT ACTIVATE WHEN YOU ENTER INDIA, PLAN YOUR TIMING OF HAVING THE INDIAN VISA ISSUED TO CO-ORDINATE WITH YOUR TRIP.

3. Documents needed for westerners:



- Valid passport with 6 months or more validity

- Copy of passport

- 2 passport photo's

- Copy of your Thai Visa (if you are on a 14 day Thai Immigration tourist visa you will need to check if you qualify)

- Copy of Thai Immigration entry stamp

- Copy of flight itinerary





4. Additional documents needed for Thai citizen / Thai wife accompanying you:


- Copy of Thai blue house registration book

- Copy of Thai ID card

- Copy of Thai Marriage certificate

- Thai marriage certificate translated into English (translators- Legal Service Providers in Chiang Mai | Consulate General of the United States Chiang Mai, Thailand) and certified ("legalized") by the Department of Consular Affairs, address below:
