Huey Khon, Nan, to Mueng Nguen, Laos, Crossing

One Q I get now and then is from people wanting to make this crossing but not having their own wheels, two or four of them. I can tell them how to get to Huey Khon Immigration, but then there's that loooong walk over to the Lao Immigration office. And vice versa.

Has anyone observed any paid for transport between the two points? Song Taeo, motorcycle, anything? Or is it still shank's mare.

About a week ago I noticed quite a few motorcycle taxis on the Thai side. Don't know if they are there to bring people to Chaloem Prakiat which is a few km from the border crossing or also for the Lao side but I assume so as in the past I have seen guys on motorbike bringing people to the Lao border and then going back.

Mac - i've seen tuk tuks and motorcycle taxi's going back and fwd across that 1km of no mans land many times... should be easy to source one.
